Bank of America moving Forward with Florida Foreclosures
After asking courts for a stay on its pending foreclosure proceedings, Bank of America has decided to move forward with pending foreclosure cases in 23 states, including Florida, starting October 25. BOA stayed the proceedings on October 8 to conduct an internal review in order to make sure affidavits and documents were being filled out correctly. The stay will remain in effect in the other 27 states while Bank of America completes its review. Bank of America, based out of North Carolina, is one of the largest financial instiutions in North Florida, according to the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC). BOA is expected to file thousands of foreclosure cases in the upcoming months throughout the state of Florida.
